March 5, 2007 Meeting

We had a great meeting last night. A lot of discussion about various topics but also some show and tell.

Take a look at Beth's Lily of the Valley shawl. It was spectacular in person, let me tell you. She said she would edit this post or add a comment and tell you about the award she won and the details about the yarn content...so check back to get all the scoop.

Lili was working on some fingerless mitts in a beautiful gray yarn. Lili will you comment? She was using the Knitty pattern. Lili also emailed me the link to Petra's fingerless mitt pattern. I've definitely admired Annis' yummy fingerless mitts. (I'll try to remember to take a picture next meeting).

Faina asked me if I could make the jpeg files fit the screen when you click on the blog images. I think I've figured it out (with Beth's picture above) so I'll try to edit the other pics on the blogs as time permits.

Be sure to check out the Estonian Lace Study part of our blog for new swatches.

Well, I don;t have access to edit the post so I'll just comment.
This is the Lily of the Valley Shawl by Galina Khmeleva. It was in Knitter's Summer 2003 I believe. I worked on this shawl for about 6 months total - not including the times I put it down and didn't touch it for months.
It is made from an angora rabbit / silk blend that I also got from Galina. I worked it on size 0 needles LOOSELY so that I caould easily work the nupps.
This shawl won the Best of Show award at Rhinebeck in 2006.
